The Surprises and Delights of Cuba’s Culinary Scene

Cuban food in the US, especially in Florida, is known to be delicious — Ropa Vieja, Cuban sandwiches, fried plantains — but unfortunately, the culinary scene on mainland Cuba doesn’t quite have the same reputation. I had heard lots of negative reviews about the food in Cuba, so my expectations were pretty low for my 9 day Intrepid Travel tour of the island.
