I’ve been flying a lot lately for my 12 Trips in 12 Months, and no matter what flight I’m on, I always opt for a window seat. People are usually in one camp or the other: window vs. aisle. But I’m a full fledged window girl. Here are my top 5 reasons to choose a window seat.
1) It’s easier to sleep.
Leaning up against the side of the plane to sleep is so much more comfortable that sitting straight up. You fold up your jacket, and boom, you’ve got a little pillow. It is glorious on an earlier morning flight.
2) There’s less interruptions.
You don’t have to get up every time your over zealous neighbor has to go to the bathroom or stretch their legs. You can comfortably dictate whether or not you feel like getting out of your seat.
3) You get a little bit of extra room.
There’s usually a little extra space underneath the seat on the window side. Plus, you can shove your coat or those crappy pillows along the edge of seat against the side of the plane.
4) You get to control the shade
Too sunny? No problem, close the shade. Want to see the sunrise? No problem, open the shade. You are the keeper of the keys when it comes to the window, and you can decide whether or not you want the bright sun in your face, not your neighbor.
5) You get to ‘gram it
Window seats allow for the optimal photography potential. Your instagrams are bound to make your friends jealous when you get a sick shot of the skyline or a cool cloud pic mid-flight.
Screw the extra aisle legroom, the window is where it’s at. Next time go for A and F, you won’t be sorry.
