Review of “Bali Meets Austin” AirBnb in Texas

As a sustainably minded travel company, Greenheart Travel staff support the concept of keeping money invested in the local economy and supporting local people. We’re all a huge fan of Airbnb, and I tend to enjoy my time in a city more when I use it versus a hotel. Plus, the experience just feels so much more authentic! For our long weekend in Austin, we stayed at a beautiful loft style home, aptly called the Bali Meets Austin Loft House.

Located on Austin’s southside, the amazingly serene Loft House is owned by a professional artist. We found it on AirBnb, and ooo’d and ahh’d over the photos for months leading up to our stay. Needless to say, we were hotly anticipating our visit.

As we opened the front door on our first night, we were all wowed by the natural light, spa like feel and eclectic decor. From the minute you walk in, this welcoming 4 bedroom modern home is an oasis, perfect for a relaxing vacation (or team building retreat!).  The warm burnt orange paint makes the house feel lived in, and the mixed fabrics throughout the home made it cozy.

The home is super spacious and has a very open layout, with floor to ceiling windows over looking the pool and backyard. Sharon, the owner, travels a lot as an artist and has collected some amazing treasures, many of which are from Bali and Southeast Asia. Mixed with her own pieces and quirky doll decor, every little corner features something!

We hosted all of our conference sessions on the grounds of the house, including a poolside session and sharing dinner in the screened porch. Sharon was an amazing host and kept the house well stocked with all the essentials. She was even nice enough to leave high-end shampoos and conditioners for us to use! We’ve stayed for 3 nights, 4 days, and this home just has amazing energy. I can honestly say I will leave feeling more relaxed and in tune with my work than anytime in the last 4 months. That sounds like a win to me!
