Zip Lining at Lake Travis

Currently in Austin with Greenheart Travel, I’m getting to enjoy some warm (yet rainy) weather here in the heart of Texas. As part of our team building retreat, we spent the morning today zip lining at Lake Travis.

I consider myself lucky (and thankful!) to be part of an amazing team at Greenheart Travel. We truly enjoy each others company and respect each others work in a way that I haven’t experienced at past employers. Even having a retreat shows how important our staff culture is. We have a ton of fun together, and this week has been full of laughter and fond memories.

Aside from the fun, we are here for a team-building retreat, focused on planning for our next few months & years, learning from one another and developing some concrete ideas on how to continually improve our organization.

Today, one of those team-building activities was zip lining just outside of Austin in “hill country”. Coordinated by Lake Travis Zip Line Adventures, we headed out this morning around 10am towards Lake Travis. Thankfully the rain held off throughout our trip, and we were able to successfully complete the zip line course! The lake itself was fairly unimpressive to a bunch of Midwesterners used to the Great Lakes. But the views were no less impressive, and some of the zip lines were about 2000 feet, so you could really enjoy the views at a high speed!

Some people in the group feared zip lining, others had done it in the past and were looking forward to a repeat adventure. With a great set of guides, we spent 3 hours flying through the hills & trees by Lake Travis. We supported each other and encouraged our coworkers, and it wound up being an incredibly fun afternoon together!
